XIX SERBIAN ASTRONOMICAL CONFERENCE

Belgrade, October 13-17, 2020

Venue: Serbian Academy of Science and Art, Kneza Mihaila 35
Virtual Format

Due to global Covid-19 outbreak, the 19 SAC supports international efforts to slow the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of humans and communities. As a result of these efforts, 19 SAC will be held as a virtual meeting.
We are pleased to invite you to participate at the XIX Serbian astronomical conference (19 SAC) to be held at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, from October 13 – 17, 2020. The conference will be organized jointly by the Faculty of Mathematics (Department of Astronomy) and Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade.

There is no registration fee for all registered participants. The official languages of the Conference are English and Serbian.

The 19 SAC is aimed at bringing together scientists in astronomy and related fields from Serbia and abroad. The objective of the Conference is to cover as many topics belonging to astronomy and related fields as possible (stellar physics and physics of interstellar matter, stellar and galactic systems, astrometry, dynamical astronomy and planetology, extragalactic astronomy and cosmology, interdisciplinary studies (astrobiology, astrochemistry, geophysics, atmospheric physics, astronautics and space science), history, philosophy, and teaching of astronomy, amateur astronomy, sociology of astronomy, astronomy in arts and culture).

Conference sessions will include: invited talks presented by domestic and foreign lecturers, presentations of doctoral and master degree theses that have been completed since the last conference, contributed talks and posters. Contributions presented at the Conference will be published in the Publications of the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade.

A special session "The gravitational-wave Universe" was supported by COST Action CA16104 - gravitational waves, black holes and fundamental physics (GWverse)

We welcome scientists from all over the world to join us, to present newest studies, to participate in active discussions, and to build future collaborative relationships.
